Heelers,
I just completed a three-day water-only fast from May 1-3, a practice I engage in for spiritual purposes. I invite you to join me next time!
Fasting often raises questions about weight loss from my family and friends, but for me, it’s about spiritual renewal rather than the physical benefits or science behind it. It's a sacrifice I willingly make, a tithe to my faith as 3 days is roughly 10% of a month.
I believe that when our bodies experience dis-ease and discomfort like fever or flu, it’s a sign of healing—much like a self-cleaning oven doing its thing. For instance, if you’ve felt pain in a joint like your knee, I encourage you to appreciate the hard work that knee has done, rather than focusing on the discomfort and calling it your bad knee. That knee has been there for you when it wasn't feeling so great, you know? Give it a pat and a smile, let the pain be a reminder of all the glory and joy it has brought you.
Similarly, many people view body fat negatively. However, according to famed psychic healer Betty Shine, fat is simply a protective response to toxicity. It serves as a safeguard for our organs, allowing our bodies to manage and store overwhelming levels of toxicity rather than facing it all all at once, which would likely kill or disable us. This is a testament to our bodies' intelligence, something to be proud of.
During fasting, many experience rapid weight loss and a wicked headache due to the detoxification process. Post fast, I always find a burst of joy, energy, and an indescribable relief from aches and pains. Fasting the first three days of the month is like a slingshot launching me into the journey and challenges ahead.
Speaking of unwanted weight gain, did you know there is a class of commonly used chemicals known as obesigens? But please don't take my word for it, look intro it for yourself. They are found in everything from food to skincare products especially lotions and creams. Two commonly used obesignes are Polysorbates and PEGs. Both of which, and many others, are nearly always found in massage lotions and creams. BUT NEVER AT DEEP HEELIN’! We use MCT oil and beeswax; or MCT oil and shea butter for vegan preference.
As a special for Mother’s Day, we’re offering 20% off all services at Deep Heelin' this month! Code: MAY20
If you’re satisfied with our services, we would greatly appreciate it if you could take just 5-10 seconds to leave a review on Google. Our goal is to reach 100 reviews, which will help others find us when searching for massage services.
Thank you for your support, and I look forward to seeing you soon!
Warm regards and heelin',
Travis
